The commander of U.S. Space Forces Africa visited KSA headquarters in Nairobi to discuss enhanced collaboration in space situational awareness, satellite communication, and capacity building.

The Visit

The U.S. Space Forces Africa commander met with KSA Director General and senior staff at Pitman House, Nairobi on 26 February 2026. The visit focused on deepening bilateral cooperation in space situational awareness and satellite tracking capabilities.

Key Agreements

Both parties agreed to explore information sharing on space debris tracking, joint training programmes for satellite operators, and potential integration of Malindi Ground Station data feeds with the U.S. Space Surveillance Network.

Outlook

This visit builds on the growing U.S.–Kenya strategic partnership in space, which includes previous collaborations through NASA's GLOBE programme and academic exchanges through the Fulbright scholarship programme.
