Our Mission

Harnessing Space for Kenya's Future

Kenya's relationship with space stretches back over six decades. The Malindi Ground Station, established in 1964 as part of Italy's San Marco programme, made Kenya one of the first African nations to participate in space operations. Today, the Kenya Space Agency builds on this extraordinary heritage to develop indigenous space capabilities.

Our mission is clear: to promote, coordinate and regulate the development and management of space science and technology programmes for Kenya's socio-economic benefit. From monitoring agriculture and environment through Earth observation, to building Kenya's satellite constellation, to training the next generation of space scientists, KSA is building Africa's space future.

Kenya's equatorial location provides a unique strategic advantage, making us an ideal partner for satellite launches and ground tracking operations.
