Our Facilities
From our heritage tracking station on the Kenyan coast to our satellite engineering centre in Nairobi, KSA operates world-class facilities that power Kenya's space programme.

Originally established as the San Marco Equatorial Range in 1964, the Broglio Space Centre is Africa's only satellite tracking station with direct ESA connectivity. Located at 2.9°S latitude, nearly on the equator, it provides ideal conditions for satellite tracking and data downlink. The station operates multiple tracking antennas supporting ESA missions including Galileo navigation satellites, Earth observation missions, and deep space probes.

KSA's primary research and development facility houses satellite assembly, integration, and testing capabilities. The centre includes a clean room for satellite construction, a thermal vacuum chamber, and vibration testing equipment. This is where Kenya's indigenous satellite programme, including the KenyaSat series, is developed.

The National Space Operations Centre serves as Kenya's mission control for satellite operations. From here, KSA engineers monitor the health and status of Kenya's satellite fleet, task observation requests, downlink data, and coordinate with international ground station networks.

An interactive public exhibition space showcasing Kenya's space heritage and future ambitions. The Discovery Centre features hands-on exhibits, planetarium shows, and educational programmes designed to inspire the next generation of Kenyan space scientists and engineers.
Open Monday – Saturday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Free admission for students.
