Student Programmes

Opportunities for Young Kenyans

14–18 years

Space Challenge Kenya

An annual national competition where secondary school teams design, build, and operate miniature rovers. Winners visit the Malindi Ground Station and receive mentorship from KSA engineers.

18–25 years

CubeSat Workshop Programme

University students learn to design, build, and test CubeSat satellites through hands-on workshops at KSA's Space Technology Centre. The programme has trained 300+ students since 2020.

12–17 years

Space Camp Kenya

A week-long residential programme where students experience simulated mission control, build model rockets, learn about orbital mechanics, and meet working space scientists.

18+ years

KSA Scholarship Programme

Full scholarships for outstanding Kenyan students to study aerospace engineering, astrophysics, and related fields at leading universities in Kenya and abroad.

8–18 years

Space Art Competition

An annual art competition inviting young Kenyans to imagine Kenya's space future. Winning artwork is exhibited at the Kenya Space Discovery Centre.

12–25 years

Girls in Space Programme

A dedicated initiative to increase female participation in space science and STEM. Includes mentorship, workshops, and coding bootcamps for young women across Kenya.
