The Event
The Third Italy–Africa Space Leaders Meeting brought together space agency heads from across Africa and Italy to discuss joint programmes in Earth observation, satellite development, and capacity building. Kenya's participation reflected the historic Malindi connection dating back to 1964.
Key Outcomes
Outcomes included agreements on upgrading the Malindi Ground Station infrastructure, an Italian-funded scholarship programme for Kenyan space engineering students, and a joint study on satellite-based Internet of Things (IoT) connectivity for rural East Africa.
